I went to open house at the high school tonight.  These were set up in my son's biology lab.

My husband and I cleaned the garage today, so we needed a little refreshment afterwards.

29/365 For Da Band

The high school band was having a fundraiser today at a local pizza joint.  So, what's a good band parent to do?  Go have pizza!  I didn't feel like cooking anyway, so it was a win-win.

28/365 Laundry Time

My 365 project is going to include a couple different kinds of shots.  Some will be my attempt at creative photography.  Some will be a shot of what was important on the day of the shot.  Well, this shot is from the second category.  You see, my clothes dryer died a couple weeks ago, and today I got a new one (along with a washer - they have to match, you know!).  So, no great photographic masterpiece today, because I'm busy doing laundry! (aren't the lights pretty?)

27/365 For Real?

The Real Yellow Pages -- does anyone REALLY use them anymore?  This was dropped on my doorstep a couple days ago.  This time I noticed there is a number on the front to call to cancel future deliveries.  I'll be calling them.  Of course, I guess one could still use them for craft projects.  I remember making Christmas trees with them.  Fold the pages and fan them out, then spray paint gold! 

26/365 Childhood Memories

I love buttons.  I think the reason I love them so much is that when I was a little girl, my mom would let my sister and me play with the buttons in her button basket.  We would sort the buttons by type and color, then string them and make necklaces.  This is my mom's basket.  I do not still have the buttons that we played with, but I collect buttons from yard sales and now I have my own button collection.  I don't play with them (at least I'm not admitting it), but looking at them brings back wonderful memories.

This photo wouldn't look as interesting if I had one of those new flat glass cooktops, so in this case old is better.

I've been cleaning out my mosaic area in the garage.  I'm looking forward to finishing up some projects that I started long ago.

22/365 While We Were Waiting

My son, Kevin, played in the All-Region Freshman Band tonight.  Afterwards, we went to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate with some dessert.  We waited 1-1/2 hours for a table.  While we were waiting, I took pictures!  This was taken of a glass panel that had some swirly design in it.

Well, I had hoped to take a photo of my finished project, but I got started late and it's only half done.  I enjoy power tools!

17/365 My Son the Pilot

My oldest son is a remote control helicopter pilot.  Today was the first time I saw him fly his newest, biggest, baddest helicopter.  He does 3-D flying - inverted, flips, turns, rolls.  He's pretty good at it, and is getting ready to compete in a competition in a couple of months.

16/365 These Plates Are Made For Breakin'

Mosaics is (are?) a hobby of mine.  Today I attempted to clean up my mosaic area, which is in our garage.  This is just one stack (of many stacks) of plates that I have.  I also have stained glass, cups, jewelry, beads, doodads...way more stuff than I'll ever use.  For me, collecting it is half the fun!

I joined a Flickr group called Fenced Fridays.  On Friday I will post a fence photo to that group.  I can take it any day during the week though, so some fence photos may show up here from time to time!  This one's not too exciting.  I just liked its dilapidated state.

12/365 Frozen

Looking out the window from my warm house, I saw a lone leaf frozen to the top of our glass table out on the patio.  I liked how the leaf was frozen in place and the ice had begun to melt a bit, but refroze, leaving some interesting forms.

11/365 Snack Time

Ahhh, the things I have to do to make a photo opportunity appear.  Tuesday is bread baking day here so I took some time out for tea and bread with apple butter made by my friends Doug & Brenda.  This is my first time adding a texture layer to a photo.  I've been having fun playing with textures today.  This is old paper texture from SKC Photography.

Could have been a little more focused and I should have used the tripod.  Ooh, and a colored light showing thru the icicle would have been cool.  I know some things I'll try next time, which of course, is one of the reasons to do a 365 project.

Hubby and I went to RV show at Fort Worth Convention Center today.  This was hanging in the lobby.

My dog, Cash, was bored.  I was bored.  So we took a walk.  It was nice.  We should walk each other every day.

This is Cash.  We call him our bye-bye dog, because he loves to go anywhere in the car.  I get my keys and he heads for the door.  Here he is in the passenger seat patiently waiting for the light to turn green.

I babysat my friend's six week old little girl today.  She's a sweetie!

4/365 Tuesday is Bread Day

I love to bake bread.  My family loves for me to bake bread.  But I haven't done it for several months.  So today I started up again.  I took the picture at this stage because my family will be home after it rises and bakes and it'll be gone before I get a photo of the finished product.
